The Heavens Declare

"The heavens declare the glory of the Lord. The skies proclaim the work of His hands." - Psalm 19:1 ‬

Today was a day of great anticipation as a total eclipse of the sun would be seen from the west to the east across the continental United States. It seemed to be met with great delight and celebration, with stadiums filled with viewers and even cheerleaders!

The Bible states that these types of celestial events are for "signs and seasons". As I pondered the concept of the moon blocking our view of the sun, it struck me that the moon has to be just the right size and distance from the earth for this event to take place at all. A sign that the moon has been designed...for signs and seasons. How intricate a detail, how wise the Creator Who hung the moon in space just so!
“Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:14-18‬ ‭
